Poultney, VT. (December 13, 2019) –Aladdin, the dining partner of Poultney Elementary and High Schools in Poultney, VT, recently hosted a “Breakfast of Champions” promotion – a creative way for elementary school-age students to meet and eat with the high school athletes they admire in competition.
According to Kim Babcock, Aladdin food service director, “Poultney High School student athletes, a coach and our athletic director came to the elementary school to chat with our students (while the students were eating breakfast) about being a student athlete, and the time and discipline one needs to have in order to be successful during and outside of competition.” The elementary school students were able to ask questions, were excited to receive signed autographs from their high school “home town” heroes, as well as posed for photographs.
After the elementary school students returned to class, Ms. Babcock and her team served the high school student athletes a family-style breakfast including French toast, sausages, assorted bagels, breakfast sandwiches and milk and juice, as a “thank you” for taking the time to give back to our younger students, who are the future student athletes of our school.
“The promotion was a huge success, increasing our breakfast participation by 20, but more importantly creating a feel good event with our parents and staff,” said Ms. Babcock. “In fact, parents have asked for more of these style promotions – so we are hosting a VIP breakfast scheduled for December 18th where parents and other friends and family can come and dine with our students,” she adds.
